Joe Paterno Visiting Austin

Legendary Coach Joe Paterno is coming to Austin, Texas, on Saturday, May 17—and you’re invited! Don’t miss this historic opportunity to get together with other Penn Staters and fans for a breakfast with Coach Paterno, sponsored by the Penn State Alumni Association.

It all begins at 8:00 a.m. at the Four Seasons Hotel in Austin. The breakfast will feature Coach Paterno talking about his 58-year career at Penn State (42 as head coach) and the upcoming Nittany Lion football season. The cost is $25 for members of the Alumni Association and $35 for all non-members.

23rd Annual Summer Picnic and Freshman Sendoff

There will be a home cooked buffet, games, and introduction/recognition of all the students currently attending or soon to be attending PSU.

When:  Saturday June 14th
Time:   12 Noon
Where: The Micklow residence
Cost:    Only $10 for adults and $5 for children under 13. Students and their families are free

Annual Football Game Away Trip: Purdue

This year we’ll be doing a plane trip for the Purdue game. We normally fly out Friday morning and return Sunday afternoon.

When:  Friday Ocotber 3rd to Sunday October 5th
Time:   12 Noon
Where: West Lafayette, IN
Cost:    $400-$500 per person.

Info Regarding Newsletter Mailings & E-Mails

The Chapter currently offers distribution of your newsletters via hard copy or e-mail. Due to the costs associated with producing the newsletter, we normally distribute the newsletters for March, June, August and December. At other times during the year (almost monthly) we have updates for what’s going on in the Chapter. These updates are posted on this website and are also e-mailed to anyone who has indicated they wish to receive their newsletter via e-mail. Due to the cost, we do not send out the updates via hardcopy.

In reviewing our database we have found that many members have provided an e-mail address but have indicated that they want a hardcopy newsletter. By choosing this option you are not receiving the updates electronically.

We would like all members to review their information on the Member’s List at the Chapter’s website to ensure they have selected the correct option for newsletter mailings. If you don’t remember how to use the website, please see the instructions below.

Choose the Member List option
Key in your user name and password. (if you've lost this, send an e-mail to webmaster@psudallastx.com)
Choose the view/edit profile option
Add your e-mail address in the box for “e-mail”
Click on the box for “receive e-mail updates”
Go to the bottom of the page and click on “update details”

From then on we will send out updates/newsletters to you via e-mail. You can always go in and update your profile if you change e-mail providers.
