Personal Invitation from the President of your local Alumni Chapter

Your local chapter's Annual Holiday Party and Food Drive will be held at Willhoite's Restaurant located at 432 S. Main Street in Grapevine on Saturday, December 10, 2011, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Willhoite's phone number is 817-481-7511. Parking lot is on Main St. across from Willhoite's. There is additional parking in the back and on the south side of the restaurant, and also by the train station.

Remember: Chapter dues for the 2011/2012 "dues year" must be paid to attend. (Dues remain at only $15 per family.)

To attend, you must complete the reservation form and return it. All paid reservation must be received no later than Saturday December 3rd!!

Alumni Admissions

Our PSU high school recruiting efforts in the DFW area continue to be extremely successful. We currently have 56 students from the DFW area attending one of the Penn State campuses this Fall and we have 43 students attending the online World Campus!!!

Without the great support from the following alumni volunteers who donated their time and enthusiasm this would have never happened! We hope we haven't missed anyone!

Scholarships Awarded to DFW North Texas Area Students Attending Penn State

We are pleased to announce that this past year, the Penn State Chapter of North Texas awarded $2,775 in scholarships to students from the North Texas area attending Penn State University. We'd like to thank everyone who made contributions and supported our Alumni Chapter in this effort.

Upcoming Events

Penn State night at the Dallas Stars

Join us on Saturday February 4th 2012 to watch the Dallas Stars take on the Minnesota Wild. We have reserved a block of tickets for the chapter, and have secured two types of tickets. Tickets to the game are $25 person. Or, you can choose the all you can eat ticket for $45. Each $45 ticket includes an all you can eat voucher for soda, water, hot dogs, popcorn, and nachos.

When you visit the website, you'll be able to choose from the following features:

  1. Events -- Details to upcoming and past events.
  2. Link to our Facebook page
  3. PSU Links -- provides links to Penn State websites for education and athletics, as well as links to website for shopping at all your favorite location in State College for Penn State goodies.
  4. Football -- lists the schedule for the football season as well as details about our football TV watching parties.
  5. Member List -- This is user id and password protected. List of members of the Penn State Chapter of North Texas. You can use this list to locate alumni in the area, as long as you are a current paid member of the Chapter.

When you get a chance, thank Jeff Zawadzki for the excellent job he has done in enhancing and maintaining our state of the art website.

Info Regarding Newsletter Mailings & E-Mails

The Chapter currently offers distribution of your newsletters via hard copy or e-mail. Due to the costs associated with producing the newsletter, we normally distribute the newsletters for March, June, August and December. At other times during the year (almost monthly) we have updates for what's going on in the Chapter. These updates are posted on this website and are also e-mailed to anyone who has indicated they wish to receive their newsletter via e-mail. Due to the cost, we do not send out the updates via hardcopy.

In reviewing our database we have found that many members have provided an e-mail address but have indicated that they want a hardcopy newsletter. By choosing this option you are not receiving the updates electronically.

We would like all members to review their information on the Member's List at the Chapter's website to ensure they have selected the correct option for newsletter mailings. If you don't remember how to use the website, please see the instructions below.

GET YOUR NEWSLETTER & UPDATES VIA E-MAIL

From this home page:

  1. Choose the Member List option
  2. Key in your user name and password.  (if you've lost this, send an e-mail to webmaster@psudallastx.com)
  3. Choose the view/edit profile option
  4. Add your e-mail address in the box for "e-mail"
  5. Click on the box for "receive e-mail updates"
  6. Go to the bottom of the page and click on "update details"

From then on we will send out updates/newsletters to you via e-mail. You can always go in and update your profile if you change e-mail providers.
